Design for recipe book, Polska Kuchnia

This is the book layout and cover design, as well as gift packaging and bookmarks for Polska Kuchnia, a Polish recipe book written by Anna Pabian. Polska Kuchnia is inspired deeply by Polish tradition and culture. The book as well as collateral material all feature a floral design inspired by traditional fabric prints. The underlying concept for the design of the book is “crossing-cultures.” With the aim of non-Polish people learning about Polish cooking, names of recipes also have translations below, and the tradition behind each meal is mentioned. A small key is also presented in the intro, making use of symbols to represent each meal. This helps one to learn more about the tradition of meals during the year, and on occasions. All photography was taken by myself, and all food depicted was prepared by the author. The book itself comes in a linen gift bag, with a set of embellished dish cloths, apron and 6 bookmarks.
